Multi-Platinum Grunge Rock Band Candlebox to Perform at the Suncoast Showroom Nov. 12
Grunge rock group Candlebox will bring its chart-topping hits to the Suncoast Showroom for a special one-night-only performance on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Candlebox has toured and performed with some of the biggest names in music, including Aerosmith, Metallica, Radiohead, The Offspring and many more. Formed in Seattle in 1990, the band originally went by the name Uncle Duke before changing to Candlebox the following year, after band members were inspired by Midnight Oil song lyrics in the single “Tin Legs and Tin Mines.” The group’s rise to fame began in 1992 when its demo tape made it to Madonna’s Maverick label, which quickly resulted in a record deal.

Candlebox’s self-titled debut album was released in 1993 and went quadruple Platinum. The smash hit “Far Behind” was a major success on both mainstream and alternative radio, reaching the Top 20 on the charts. In 1994, the band was a featured act at Woodstock and made multiple appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” The group released two more albums in the 90’s, 1995’s Gold-certified “Lucy” and 1998’s “Happy Pills.”

In April, Candlebox released its sixth studio album, “Disappearing in Airports.” The album features original band member Kevin Martin, former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen, bassist Adam Kury and new guitarists Mike Leslie and Brian Quinn.

Showtime is at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available from $39.95 plus taxes and fees, and can be purchased at Boyd Gaming box office locations including The Orleans Showroom, Orleans Arena, Gold Coast Showroom, Suncoast Showroom and Sam’s Town Live!; by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000; or visiting www.suncoastcasino.com.
