My Morning Jacket Releases Exclusive iTunes ‘Live from Las Vegas at the Palms’ EP

Fans regaled this week when indie rock band My Morning Jacket released (January 13), exclusively on iTunes, live tracks recorded last year inside Studio at the Palms – the Palms Casino Resort’s state-of-the-art recording studio. The release is part of the iTunes’ “Live from Las Vegas at the Palms” series which finds today’s most influential artists performing live throughout the celebrated resort.

“We’re excited to bring a piece of Studio at the Palms to fans across the world with these releases – not many people get to experience the studio on this level. It’s like eavesdropping on your favorite artist during their recording session,” said Palms Owner George Maloof.

Previous exclusive iTunes releases found artists such as John Legend, Hinder and Wolfmother performing live in The Pearl Concert Theater, The Lounge and other areas of the resort. The newest series finds rocker Gavin Rossdale, indie rockers Death Cab for Cutie and electro-pop indie duo The Bird and the Bee jamming live inside Studio at the Palms. These exclusive tracks are available at www.itunes.com.

Studio at the Palms is responsible for some of the biggest hits in the music industry since opening its doors to artists more than three years ago. Releases including Maroon 5’s It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, LL Cool J’s hit single “Baby,” Panic at the Disco’s Pretty. Odd., Britney Spears’ Blackout and Celine Dion’s Taking Chances have all been produced in some capacity at Studio at the Palms in the past year.

Additionally during this time, producer and writing duo Tricky Stewart and The Dream have spent countless hours calling the studio home while working on recordings for Mariah Carey (“Touch My Body”), Mary J. Blige (Growing Pains), The Dream’s own album Love/Hate, Usher (“Moving Mountains”), Gym Class Heroes (“Cookie Jar”) and countless others. By the close of the first quarter of 2009, more studio releases from the duo will include Ciara’s highly anticipated new release, singles from Beyonce, The Dream’s sophomore studio album and other recordings from Jamie Foxx, Lionel Richie and others.
