Natalie Cole Brings “Unforgettable” Performance to Cannery Casino
She is simply one of a kind. Nine-time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and performer Natalie Cole will perform her chart-topping hits at The Cannery Casino & Hotel May 21 at 8:30 p.m.
Her most famous track “Unforgettable” sold more than 7 million copies in the United States alone, and gave Cole several Grammy Awards, including: Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance. Her other hits include “L-O-V-E,” “The Very Thought Of You,” “This Will Be” and “Too Young.”
Her best selling album is 1991’s Unforgettable: With Love. The jazz collection features her vocal arrangements on songs originally done by her father Jazz Legend Nat “King” Cole. Thanks to modern technology, she performed the title song “Unforgettable” as a duet with her father, using her father’s vocals from the original recording. The album spent five weeks at #1 on the pop charts, earned six Grammy Awards and sold more than 14 million copies worldwide. Other hits on the best selling album include “Route 66,” ”Smile,” “Mona Lisa” and “Orange Colored Sky.”
Cole’s latest album, Still Unforgettable, was released in 2009 and also includes a virtual duet with her late father on “Walking My Baby Back Home”. Her other hits include “Come Rain, Come Shine” and “Coffee Time.” The album won two Grammys and earned Cole a NAACP Award for Best Jazz Artist.
