‘On Air with Robert & CC’ Interviews Cedric Benson and Coolio at PBR Rock Bar and Grill in Las Vegas
Cedric Benson didn’t hold back his feelings on Friday night when he went ‘On Air with Robert & CC’ at PBR Rock Bar and Grill. The free agent NFL running back made it clear that he has been working hard all off season that he loved the idea of escaping to Vegas for a vacation (Photo credit: Aaron Garcia).
“I’ve run into a lot of people already from UT and I’ve only been in Vegas a few hours….(Brian) Orakpo is here!” said Benson.

When asked about his relationships with his past coaches he gave praise to his High School Coach Parchman and Chicago Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith. When asked about University of Texas Head Coach Mack Brown he said “Mack was too short, if he would have played me from the start we would have won it all my freshman year”. When asked about Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis he said “Marvin is Marvin and I’m not playing there anymore. The only reason I’m not there is because they can’t afford me”.

Some would say Cedric is cocky or self absorbed but maybe the word is “different”. At one point during the interview he gave out his address and then there was the $250,000 signing bonus in 2001 when the LA Dodgers drafted him to play baseball, he gave up baseball and insisted on playing football. He lives a quiet life in Austin, TX during the off season and his entourage is small. His new passion is music and currently DJ’s under the name “DJ World Peace”. Would he give up football to become a DJ? It could eventually happen but for now look for him to sign with a new team in the coming weeks. The Oakland Raiders would be the perfect fit, the black hole is different isn’t it?
Coolio and Goast

Coolio was the second guest Friday night and he brought his nephew “Goast” with him to promote his book ‘Cookin’ with Coolio’. Coolio talked about selling thousands of his signature ‘Soul Rolls’ in Brooklyn, NY the week before at a food festival. Look for new episodes of ‘Cookin’ with Coolio’ and Goast’s new album ‘Goast Recon’ coming soon. Coolio and his entourage stayed at PBR to party the night away following the interview.
