One Drop Hosts Sixth Annual "Walk for Water" Oct. 21; Three-Mile “Fun Walk” Begins at the Smith Center, Ends at Las Vegas Springs Preserve
This fall, usher in the new season with One Drop as it hosts the sixth annual Walk for Water on Saturday, Oct. 21. Presented by Barrick Gold Corporation, the beloved “fun walk” will kick off at Symphony Park at The Smith Center, with the nearly three-mile stretch ending at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.  

Kicking off the day’s activities will be Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Congresswoman Dina Titus, who will show support for the cause as they welcome guests. Hosted by professional BMX rider Ricardo Laguna, the event will feature an array of magnificent performances. Additional acts to be announced at a later date.

Interested walkers and teams can register online now. Registration fees are $25 for individual and team walkers and $20 for students and seniors. Participants who register before Monday, Oct. 2 will receive a $5 discount off registration fees, totaling $20 for individuals and $15 for students and seniors. All proceeds will benefit local water conservation and educational efforts in the Las Vegas community.

Event Schedule

  • 7:30 a.m. – Registration begins
  • 8:30 a.m. – Mayor Goodman and Congresswoman Titus welcome participants
  • 9 ? 9:45 a.m. – Walk from Symphony Park to the Springs Preserve
  • 10 a.m. – Programming at Springs Preserve begins
  • 11:30 a.m. – Event concludes

One Drop has created a partnership with Springs Preserve by donating $1.25M to further develop innovative educational programming in Nevada. Contributions were used to develop the Springs Preserve WaterWorks exhibit, which is set to open in September 2017.
