The opening act blew the audience away as the girls came out for introductions in their breath-taking cultural costumes, each representing the contestant’s unique ethnicity. The crowd cheered as outfits from China, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam and more dazzled under the lights. Next, the girls flaunted their bikini-clad bodies during the swimsuit segment. Contestants crossed the stage with pure confidence as “American Girl” by Bonnie McKee rang through the auditorium. Talent followed with amazing vocals, cultural dances and even a mother and daughter duet by TEEN delegate Jannah Bowen and MRS. delegate Tammy Tsai. After talent, the stage was full of poise and beauty as the girls made their way out for evening gown. Local musician Daniel Park provided the soundtrack, singing covers including John Legend’s “All of Me,” Chris de Burgh’s “The Lady in Red” and more, as the girls walked gracefully across the stage.

Next, the suspense built as Bhoolsuwan announced the finalists, who moved on to the next round of question and answer. Each finalist graced the limelight as they were asked about their platform and then a random question. Judges, Martin, Du, Hour and Laguna as well as James Mulligan, official artist for Disney and Warner Bros.; Michael Skenandore, president at WENDOH Media; Carrie Carter-Henderson, founder/president of BESTAgency; Roy Ng, chief operating officer at Twilio, Inc.; and Mary Choi Kelly, vice president of human resources at The Venetian and The Palazzo, asked the girls about their personal life, current events, among other pressing topics.

As the judges deliberated, local entertainers Lydia Ansel and Zowie Bowie brought down the house with their upbeat tunes. The results were finally in, and Bhoolsuwan welcomed all the girls out on stage one last time for the final crowning. The crowd congratulated the whole group as winners of the honorary awards and official titles were called. Last year’s queen smiled and congratulated the new winners as they handed down the coveted crowns and sashes.
