This year, all of the buzz was surrounding Derek’s 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon– the fastest production car ever built, with only 3000 made for the United States.  This past Saturday, the moment finally arrived, and the forty-two qualifying players gathered on Golden Gate’s Main Street Stage located on the Fremont Street Experience.  A crowd formed quickly after seeing the beautiful car parked right in front of the stage, and soon enough Fremont Street was packed with anticipation.

Then, a whole new level of excitement arose when onlookers noticed that one of the ‘Demon’ qualifiers looked quite familiar. That’s because it was Corey Harrison– also known as “Big Hoss” from History Channel’s hit reality show Pawn Stars All qualifiers then walked up to choose one of the forty-two identical boxes, each hoping theirs held the key to their dream car.  The countdown commenced, and everyone opened their boxes at the same time.  The winner jumped up almost instantly, and the crowd went crazy, his excitement being infectious.

Unbeknownst to all, Corey knew he wasn’t leaving without that car.  As Derek Stevens shook hands and posed for photos with the winner, Corey approached them and started doing what he’s known for- negotiating.  Of course, Corey succeeded, and locked down the ‘Demon’ for roughly $80,000.   What an event this was- especially for the crowd, who felt like they basically watched an episode of Pawn Stars right in front of them!
