Reynolds has always been a fan of slot machines during her Vegas vacations and jokes that her win on the “Wizard of Oz” machine and her name, Dorothy, “must have been meant to be.”  She has plans to spend the holidays in her hometown of Fallbrook, California with her two daughters and nine grandchildren who “may be surprised at this year’s Christmas presents.”

“Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Dorothy Reynolds on her exciting $2.9 million win,” said David Hoenemeyer, general manager of Planet Hollywood. “This is not only a place where million dollar motion pictures are filmed, it’s a place where millionaires are made.  We are always thrilled to see our casino guests’ dreams come true.”

Reynolds had played on the winning machine for three hours and had invested nearly $500 when she hit the jackpot.  She received the first of her earnings this morning with a check for $147,000 and celebrated her win by continuing to play slot machines with her daughter.  Once she is back home, Reynolds will review her options as to whether receive the rest of her winnings in one lump sum or in payments over the next 10-20 years.
