Raja Rahman Appointed as “Director of Piano Studies” at Nevada School of the Arts, Las Vegas

, the musical half of internationally renowned Vegas magic act, “Jarrett & Raja”, has been appointed Director of Piano Studies at the Nevada School of the Arts. A graduate and past faculty of The Juilliard School, Raja has operated his own private studio of students for over 20 years in New York and Las Vegas. 

Raja has studied with the world’s greatest piano teachers – Seymour Lipkin, Jerome Lowenthal, Lev Vlassenko, and American concert pianist sensation, Byron Janis.

Raja will be recording his first solo piano album this year at Grammy Award winning studio, Sono Luminus. Concert tours this year include Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York. Raja will be performing solo recitals at the Met Museum in NYC in July, August, and November. A special guest concert is scheduled at Las Vegas’ UNLV Ham Hall on November 18, 2018.

Raja has toured Europe with legendary conductors Mstislav Rostropovich, Sir Georg Solti, and Iona Brown. He performed on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in October of 2015. Raja continues to star in “Jarrett & Raja” both live and on TV.

For nearly 40 years, the Nevada School Of The Arts has offered arts education to residents of the Las Vegas valley. A non-profit 501(c)(3) educational institution, NSA is the state’s only member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts to hold “Certified Member” status. NSA is supported by the Nevada Arts Council (NAC) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

Jarrett & Raja have performed their live show to over 2 million people worldwide. The guys starred in “America’s Got Talent LIVE” at The Palazzo Hotel in 2013, where 5 of the TV show’s most popular acts comprised the lineup produced by Fremantle Media. They headlined in a $35M Mark Fisher production at Resorts World (Singapore) called “Voyage de la Vie” (2010-2012) that was directed by Phil McKinley (“Le Reve”, “Spiderman Turn Off The Dark”). The guys worked with Cirque du Soleil director, Guy Caron (KA, Dralion) during their second year in Singapore. In 2009, they wowed audiences at the legendary Vegas show, “JUBILEE!” at Bally’s Hotel, and performed with the band One Republic. Director Kenny Ortega (“High School Musical” and Michael Jackson’s “This is It!”) brought their show to London for special appearances with David LaChapelle, Pamela Anderson and The Pussycat Dolls. Jarrett & Raja starred in China’s “Elements”, the prestigious Edinburgh Festival, a sold out British tour, and China’s Shenzhen Magic Festival. TV shows include NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”, ABC’s “Shark Tank”, CW’s “Wizard Wars” and “Masters of Illusion”, BBC’s “The Slammer”.
