Rapper DMX to Perform at Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip Feb. 16

Legendary rapper DMX brings his distinct sound to the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip Thursday, February 16.

Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, is a multi-platinum American rapper and actor, who has been climbing the rap charts since the ‘90s. He is a part of the Ruff Ryders Entertainment label, and has delivered five number one Billboard albums. He gained early fame with the single “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” off his first major-label album It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot. DMX’s unique, gritty sound distinguishes him from other rappers in an often blurred genre.

His third album, …And Then There Was X, debuted at number one on the charts in 1999, and has been DMX’s best-selling album to date, going six times platinum. DMX also made his mark on the acting world; having starred in films such as “Belly,” “Romeo Must Die,” “Exit Wounds,” and “Cradle to the Grave.”

With it being 5 years since his last release, Year of the Dog…Again, DMX is ready to come back in a big way. His upcoming seventh studio album is slated to be released in December. He recently performed at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, and showed the world that DMX is still a force to be reckoned with.
