, considered American treasures by many fans and critics, will perform at the Events Center at The Eastside Cannery on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 8:30 p.m. 

The O’Jays have spent more than 40 years producing hits and entertaining audiences with their soulful singing and incredible stage presence, and include original members Eddie Levert, Sr. and Walter Williams, Sr. and gifted vocalist Eric Nolan Grant who joined the group in 1995.

In the early 1970s, The O’Jays brought the sound of Philadelphia soul to the world, hitting the Top 10 with singles including “Back Stabbers,” “Love Train,” “I Love Music,” and “For The Love of Money,” a song that gained recognition with a new generation of fans as the theme song to the reality show “The Apprentice.”  They have had twenty albums in the Top 20 chart, 13 Top 10 singles and countless gold and platinum albums.

With a career that spans more than 50 years, The O’Jays were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from BET in 2009. The O’Jays have been nominated four times for a Grammy and won an American Music Award in 1990 for Best Group.
