Reckless in Vegas to Perform 1960s-Era Classics at The Smith Center Aug. 14
On Aug. 14, 2015, Reckless In Vegas will perform its first engagement at Cabaret Jazz at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts

The unique power trio combines the imagery, banter and classic music from the 1960s “glory days” of Las Vegas with a contemporary rock band aesthetic.

The show begins at 8 p.m. Those who purchase tickets by Aug. 1 will be entered to win an Apple Watch, courtesy of the band. The winner will be announced at the end of the Cabaret Jazz performance.

Reckless In Vegas isn’t just a band—members Michael Shapiro (band founder, lead vocals, guitar), Ryan Low, aka Dr. Fu (drums, vocals) and Chris Nichols (bass, vocals) have created an exciting show that incorporates their live performances of modern versions of songs by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, Sonny & Cher, Frankie Valli, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and Bobby Darin with dynamic production-show elements.

Whether you remember the swinging Vegas lounge era days or were born later, Reckless In Vegas has something for everyone. Video montages, dialogue, humor, modern hard-rocking grooves and tender moments of balladry combine to create a truly original take on this classic genre. Think The Rat Pack meets Green Day.

“Playing Cabaret Jazz at The Smith Center for the first time is a thrill for us,” says Shapiro. “Its classic showroom vibe complements our show perfectly—we can’t wait to see our fans and make new ones in such a distinctive environment.”
