Recycled Percussion Rocks China

Junk rock band and current Las Vegas Headliners, Recycled Percussion, have just returned from performing in front of their largest audience in the band’s 15 years. The band was the only American act selected to perform on the October 10 finale of China’s Got Talent. The finale was broadcast live from Shanghai Stadium on Dragon TV to an estimated 610 million viewers.

“China was amazing; it’s hard to put into words how incredible the experience was. Our show has no language barrier, which made it easy to share with the Chinese audience,” said band leader Justin Spencer.  “There were over 80,000 people in Shanghai Stadium, which was a huge rush to begin with.  The fact that over 600 million people watched at home is hard for us to imagine.”

Recycled Percussion has enjoyed much success since placing 3rd in “America’s Got Talent,” including an exclusive contract performing at Studio 54 at the MGM Grand. Formed in 1994 in New Hampshire at their High School talent show, Recycled Percussion’s first performance gave birth to the style of music now known as JUNK ROCK.  This small-town band has built their show into one of the more powerful live performances in entertainment.  During every show, the band mixes their gritty assault on buckets, power tools or anything else they can get their sticks on with a sense of humor and gravity defying athleticism. Recycled Percussion pushes the limits again with their revolutionary interactive concept featured in their Las Vegas show.

Spencer, who has been named the world’s fastest drummer, along with fellow drummer Ryan Vezina, guitarist Jim Magoon and DJ Todd Griffin started to tour the world as Recycled Percussion in 2001 and have averaged over 250 shows a year since.  It was then that they started gaining a reputation for unforgettable live performances, winning the award for “entertainers of the year” a record six times.  The band also played in living rooms across the country all the way to its recent 3rd place finish on the hit television show “America’s Got Talent” on NBC.  The group placed 3rd out of over 100,000 acts and became the first non-singing act to place in the top 3 in show history.  The group has appeared on the cover of “USA TODAY” and has performed on the “Today Show,” “Carson Daly,” “Talk Soup,” “Crook and Chase,” and many more.  For information about the band, please visit www.recycledpercussionband.com or find them on Facebook and Twitter.
