presents music legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Leon Russell on October 22 and 23 at 8 p.m.  Over the span of a 50-year career in music, Russell has played on, arranged, written and produced some of the best known records in music history. He has collaborated with hundreds of artists, including Glen Campbell, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, Edgar Winter, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan and Ringo Starr.

Born in Oklahoma, Russell began playing in Tulsa nightclubs at the age of 14 and in the ‘60s became part of an elite group of studio musicians contributing to hit records. As a songwriter and musician, he has worked with a diverse range of artists, hitting the charts on all music genres. His songwriting credits include such hits as Ray Charles’ “A Song for You,” “Hummingbird” by B.B. King, The Carpenters’ “Superstar,” and Joe Cocker’s “Delta Lady.” George Benson’s 1976 cover of “The Masquerade” won the Record of the Year Grammy Award and became the first song to No. 1 on jazz, pop and R&B charts. Russell’s solo albums have earned six Gold records.

In 2006, the Bare Bones International Film Festival awarded Russell with a Lifetime Achievement Award and he was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. In 2011, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was presented the Award for Recording Excellence and selected for the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.Released earlier this year, “The Union,” his duet album with Elton John, entered the Billboard chart at No. 3 and was named the No. 3 album of year by Rolling Stone. The single “If It Wasn’t For Bad” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
