And the winner of Scale the Strat 2017 is 27 year old Shaun Stephens-Wale of Roberts Creek, Canada. His winning time of 7 minutes and 3 seconds sets a new course record! (Previous Scale the Strat record was set in 2012 with a time of 7 minutes and 5 seconds.)

Scale the Strat is an extreme stair climb up the iconic Stratosphere Tower to benefit the American Lung Association in Nevada. This year, a record 800+ climbers registered. So far, today’s event has raised $225,000 for the nonprofit’s mission of promoting lung health and preventing lung disease. Fundraising continues online at www.scalethestrat.com.

The course up Stratosphere Tower is 108 floors and 1,455 steps. This is the ninth year for Scale the Strat and it has been a record year in terms of participants & money raised. This is the American Lung Association in Nevada’s largest fundraising event of the year.
