Singer-Songwriter Marc Cohn to Perform at Venetian Showroom Nov. 13

Grammy Award winning artist, Marc Cohn, will perform in the 742-seat Venetian Showroom as part of his current tour, Listening Booth. The concert will feature sounds from the American folk singer-songwriter’s unique catalog of music, including songs from his newest album, Listening Booth: 1970 and his hit single, “Walking in Memphis.” The concert is scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 8 p.m.

“Marc Cohn has built a reputation as one of the premier singer-songwriters of his generation,” said Chris Yancey, executive director of entertainment for The Venetian and The Palazzo. “Seeing him up close and personal in the intimate setting of the Venetian Showroom will be a memorable experience for music fans and a real treat for our guests.”

Marc Cohn’s current album Listening Booth: 1970, on which he lends his soulful, transformative touch, is a collection of classic songs made famous by artists like Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Cat Stevens, Smokey Robinson, Simon & Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, and more. The album is a collaboration with longtime producer-arranger-instrumentalist and fellow Grammy Award winner John Leventhal. The highly personal interpretations say as much about Cohn’s own history – his experiences, his memories, his inspirations – as about the legacy of these songs.
