welcomes The Run For a Million, the richest event in the history of Reining featuring the top 12 competitors in the National Reining Horse Association, Thursday, Aug. 15 through Saturday, Aug. 17 (Pictured: Ifwhizswereguns rider Andrea Fappani).

The Run For a Million will feature nine of the industry’s most successful reining professionals, plus three wild card professionals, as they compete for a purse of $1 million on Saturday, Aug. 17. In addition to the main invitational event, the three-day event will hold additional competitions including $100,000 Added Shoot Out, Rookie Championships, $50,000 Added Non Pro Championships and $50,000 Added Invitational Freestyle event.

Produced by Academy-Award nominee writer, director and creator Taylor Sheridan alongside Brumley Management Group, the producer behind three National Reining Horse Associations leading events, The Run For a Million offers a rare opportunity to showcase the sport of Reining to millions of viewers around the world. Paramount Network has been shadowing 12 of the Reining horse industry’s most successful professionals for a new mini-series, “The Last Cowboy,” scheduled to air weekly on Paramount Network and Country Music Television from Thursday, July 11 through Thursday, Aug. 29. “The Last Cowboy” series leads up to The Run For a Million with the season finale filmed on Saturday, Aug. 17 at South Point Arena.

Following the competition on Saturday, guests can enjoy a country western concert featuring Lainey Wilson and Jason Boland and the Stragglers. Tickets are now available for Saturday’s event for $25 (General Admission) or $75 (Reserved Seating) at South Point’s Ticketmaster website.
