Spring into Summer with 7th Annual Wine Fest at Golden Nugget Las Vegas
Toast to warmer weather with three days of wine tastings, food, live entertainment and more at the 7th annual Wine Fest at Golden Nugget Las Vegas (Pictured: Wine Fest Grand Tasting 2014)

This year’s event will be held from Friday, May 15, to Sunday, May 17, and feature the finest selections from California, Oregon and Washington.

FRIDAY, MAY 15

Poolside Wine Reception

Wine Fest will begin with a poolside wine reception from 8 to 10 p.m. at the H20 Poolside Bar. Priced at $45 per person, the evening will include tastings, small bites and meet-and-greets with top winemakers in a picturesque setting surrounded by Golden Nugget’s world-famous pool and shark tank.

Winemakers Dinner

Brenna Ponzi of Ponzi Vineyards will host the Winemakers Dinner beginning at 7 p.m. inside Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse. Priced at $195 per person, the dinner will feature a surf-and-turf menu accentuating the bountiful seafood found off the coast and inland waterways of the Pacific Northwest.

Due to popular demand, the dinner will be offered on Thursday, May 14, as well as Friday, May 15.

SATURDAY, MAY 16

Wine Comparison Tasting Seminars

Two Wine Comparison Tasting Seminars featuring wine from some of the world’s most prolific producing regions will be held at Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 3 to 4:30 p.m. The first tasting will feature 12 Pinot Noirs from California and Oregon, followed by the second tasting highlighting 12 Cabernets from California and Washington. The tasting seminars will be hosted by winemakers, winery owners and special guests including Master Sommelier’s Guy Stout, Joseph Phillips and Thomas Burke. Tickets will be priced at $35 per person for each tasting.

Pacific Northwest Grand Tasting

The grand tasting will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. inside The Grand Event Center allowing guests to sample some of the finest wines from the region while enjoying masterfully-prepared chef’s appetizers, music and a silent auction. Tickets start at $125 per person.

SUNDAY, MAY 17

Champagne and Jazz Brunch

Golden Nugget will host a champagne and jazz brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside The Grand Event Center. The brunch, priced at $75 per person, will feature classic favorites, made-to-order crepes, a deluxe bloody mary bar and sparkling wines to go along with live jazz music. In addition, guests may participate in a fast-paced, exciting live auction highlighted by wine lots, collector bottles, vacation packages and more. A portion of proceeds from both individual ticket sales and the auction will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas, a nonprofit organization which provides a ‘home away from home’ for traveling families receiving critical medical treatment for their children.

‘Wine Down with the Winemakers’ Reception

Wine Fest will conclude with a poolside reception from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at The Hideout Pool. Priced at $30 per person, guests may relax at poolside cabanas while chatting with the top winemakers from the weekend and sampling selections from various vineyards.

Participating vineyards at Wine Fest will include – California: Alexander Valley Vineyards, B Cellars, Earthquake, Jason Stevens, MacRostie, Michael David, Mumm Vineyards, Presqu’lle, Schramsberg, Terra Valentine, Ventana, Wolfgang Puck Wines; Oregon: A to Z Wineworks, Archery Summit, Battle Creek, Bethel Heights, Folin Cellars, Ponzi Vineyards, Rex Hill; Washington: 14 Hands, Browne Family, Canoe Ridge, L’Ecole, Milbrandt, Pepper Bridge, Sawtooth, Snoqualmie, Ste. Michelle and Waterbrook, among others.
