Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower Announces Line Up of New Year’s Eve 2008 Parties and Festivities

The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower will be offering a diverse line up of parties and options for celebrating New Year’s Eve 2008.

“The Stratosphere is one big party on New Year’s Eve, but what sets us apart is that from casual to extravagant, we provide a party option for every taste and budget,” said Stuart Richey, vice president of marketing for the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower.

New Year’s Eve 2008 festivities:
Top of the World Restaurant Early Seating will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Reservations are required. The price is $125 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity) for the four-course prix fixe menu. There will be a cash bar. Dining time for this seating is one hour and 45 minutes. Guests 21 years of age or older will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne upon arrival. Top of the World Restaurant Early Seating guests have the option of paying an additional $75 for the Party on Level 108.

Top of the World Restaurant Late Seating will be from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Reservations are required. The price is $350 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity) for the five-course prix fixe menu. The seating includes live entertainment by the William Moran Jazz Trio as well as unparalleled views of America’s Party-New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show. This package includes access to Romance Lounge, party favors and a Champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to access the Top of the World Late Seating. Guests will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne upon arrival. Dining time for this package is two hours or until closing.

The Twilight Room Party will be from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Reservations are required for this intimate setting located on Level 104 of the Stratosphere Tower with unparalleled views of the Las Vegas Strip and America’s Party-New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show. The price is $250 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity). The party will start with butler passed hors d’oeuvres including crab Rangoon and cozy shrimp. The four course meal will start with roasted quail filled with foie gras and apples, served with leek sauce. The second course is baby beets with tear drop tomato and baby turnips radiccio, served with a lemon vinaigrette dressing. The main course is filet with black truffle sauce and lobster tail served with seasonal vegetables. The fourth course is a special New Year’s Eve chocolate and banana dessert. There will be an open bar with a Champagne toast and party favors at midnight. A DJ will provide entertainment.

The Romance Lounge party on Level 107 will be from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and includes live entertainment from the William Moran Band, live countdown to midnight, a balloon drop, midnight Champagne toast, party favors, and unparalleled views of the America’s Party-New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show. The cost is $99 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity). VIP tables and bottle service will be available for purchase. There will be no guaranteed seating. Tickets are limited. Partygoers must be 21 years of age or older to attend. The Romance Lounge will be closed to the general public not dining at the Top of the World Restaurant or attending the Romance Lounge party.

Indoor Observation Deck Party, located on Level 108 of the Tower, will be from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The party includes a DJ, open bar, party favors, butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, a midnight Champagne toast, unparalleled views of the America’s Party-New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show, and unlimited thrill ride admission (with some minor restrictions) on the Big Shot, X Scream and Insanity thrill rides. The party will include butler passed hors d’oeuvres including Beef Wellington, cozy shrimp, beef satay, mushroom purees and duck egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce. There will be an antipasta presentation with an assortment of breads and lavosh along with an imported cheese display. There will also be a chocolate fountain featuring strawberries, melon, pineapple, marble pound cake, cream puffs, whipped cream and marshmallows. Part of the open bar will be a special martini bar. The cost is $175 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity). Tickets are limited. Partygoers must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

At the C-Bar in the casino there will be a Champagne toast at midnight and party favors will be offered. Partygoers must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Admission is free.

The Crazy Armadillo will offer a DJ from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Partygoers must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

Live entertainment will be offered in Images Lounge on New Year’s Eve with the Frankie Moreno Band from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the band Front Page from 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. A Champagne toast at midnight and party favors will be offered. Partygoers must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Admission is free.

There will be no American Superstars or BITE shows on New Year’s Eve.

The Stratosphere Tower will close to the public at 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Ticketing will stop selling Tower and ride tickets at 12:30 p.m. The Tower will re-open on January 1 at 10 a.m. The Tower Shops retail mall will remain open New Year’s Eve.

Free party favors will be available throughout the hotel and casino leading up to midnight while supplies last. A free Champagne toast will take place at midnight in the casino.
