Strip House Steakhouse at Planet Hollywood Offers New Bucket List Wine Selection and Barrel-Aged Cocktail Program
Strip House, the sultry steakhouse at Planet Hollywood introduces two new specialty elements to their beverage program designed to appeal to connoisseurs of wine and whisky (Pictured: Barrel Aged Manhattan).
The Bucket List features the opportunity sample an impressive selection of wines by the glass, made possible by the Coravin system, which makes it possible to pour the wine without removing the cork, preventing oxidation and increasing the longevity of the wine. Now at Strip House one can sip a three or six ounce pour from a selection of impressive vintners without committing to the purchase of a full bottle.
Coravin Bucket List Lineup
Currently one Super Tuscan, a 2011 Marchesi Antinori ‘Tignanello”, six cabernets from winemakers including Quintessa, Opus One, Dominus Estate, Caymus Vineyards and Bryant Family Vineyards with prices that range from $25 to $179 make up the Bucket List offerings. A vertical tasting flight of Cardinale Winery’s 2007, 2008 and 2009 cabernet sauvignon vintages is also available $150 for a three-ounce pour of each year.
For those whose tastes trend towards spirits, the restaurant debuts two new house barrel-aged cocktails. Aging cocktails in wood barrels can soften harsh edges and add layers of flavors.
Barrel Aged Old Fashioned
The cocktail architects at Strip House have deconstructed the classic Old Fashioned and added a new level of sophistication with an aged whiskey, an orange creole shrubb to impart a bitter orange flavor and maraschino cherry liqueur. After a four week barrel aging it is topped with a trio of house made bourbon cherries; the result is an elegant cocktail with finesse. They have also introduced a 30-day Barrel Aged Manhattan featuring Bulleit Rye and Carpano Antica, a fine Italian vermouth.
