Styx to Perform The Grand Illusion and Pieces Of Eight at The Pearl at Palms Nov. 16-17
As one of the most historic rock groups in history, Styx will perform their two most legendary albums, The Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight, back-to-back in their entirety each night at the Pearl Concert Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on November 16 & 17, 2012 at 8 p.m (Photo: © Scott Harrison / RETNA/ www.harrisonphotos.com)

Tickets start at $54, plus additional service fees. This is the first time ever this show will be performed west of the Mississippi and the only performances of 2012 that feature The Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight. This live entertainment experience is sure to be a destination show for fans from around the world.

Styx – Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips (along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo) – have performed more live since 1999 than all of the previous years of the group’s career combined. From two Super Bowl appearances to box office chart-topping tours with Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon and Bad Company, as well as additional studio album releases, Styx continues to conquer the planet, one venue at a time.

Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ’70s, Styx would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late ’70s and early ’80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads. With studio releases beginning in 1972 with a self-titled debut, it wasn’t until the group’s second release Styx II in 1973 and their hit “Lady” that the group broke into the mainstream. The group’s hits include their second Top 10 success, “Come Sail Away” and the track “Fooling Yourself” – both from 1977’s The Grand Illusion. The following year “Blue Collar Man” and “Renegade” were smash singles spawned from Pieces of Eight. The group will perform both albums live back-to-back on both nights – an amazing musical experience for any fan of rock ‘n roll.

Doors at the Pearl will open at 7 p.m. and show time is 8 p.m. The Pearl Box Office is open daily from noon until 7 p.m. with extended hours on select event days. The Pearl is now on Twitter. Follow @PearlatPalms for concert announcements and event information.
