The Art of Rap Tour featured performances by the Sugarhill Gang, Mobb Deep, Kurtis Blow, Naughty by Nature, Grandmaster Melle Mel, EPDM and Public Enemy.

Kicking off the exciting evening, the Sugarhill Gang wowed the crowd with their hit “8th Wonder” and Mobb Deep performed favorites like “Hell On Earth,” “Got it Twisted” and “Quiet Storm.”

They were followed by a compelling set from Kurtis Blow, who holds the distinct title as being hip hop’s first signed recording artist. Blow’s performance included songs “Rappin’ Blow Pt. 2” and “These Are the Brakes.”

Next up, Naughty By Nature gave powerful performances of their tracks “OPP” and “Hip Hop Hooray.” The entertaining ensemble surprised guests by finishing off their set with covers of P. Diddy and Tupac.

The evening continued with an impressive showcasing from Grandmaster Melle Mel, who delivered covers of Gandmaster Flash’s greatest hits, including “The Message.” Enthusiastic fans were blown away when Mel was joined on stage by the Sugarhill Gang for an energetic collaboration at the downtown venue.

Derek Stevens, CEO and Founder of the D Las Vegas and DLVEC, took the stage to thank guests shortly before headliners Public Enemy finished off the night with a memorable and high-octane medley of their greatest hits, including “Bring the Noise” and “Believe the Hype.”
