Summer’s Hottest Thriller “The Neighbor” to Host Star-Studded Vegas Premiere on August 25
Executive Producers Jason Egan and Tony Sgro have teamed up with Fortress Features and the co-writers of Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI and The Collector, Marcus Dunstan, who also directed the horror feature, and Patrick Melton, film stars Josh Stewart (Finest Hour, The Dark Knight Rises), Bill Engvall (“Blue Collar TV”) and Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes) to release the highly anticipated suspense-thriller, The Neighbor.
The film will hold its star-studded red carpet premiere in Las Vegas at Brenden Theaters inside the Palms Casino Resort on Thursday, August 25.

In the small town of Cutter, Mississippi, most people keep to themselves. But when John (Stewart) comes home to find his girlfriend Rosie (Essoe) missing, he suspects his mysterious and off-putting neighbor (Engvall – in a shocking performance) – is somehow involved. John learns that Rosie’s life is not all that is at stake after a visit to his neighbor’s cellar. It becomes clear that the seemingly quiet town is more dangerous than it looks, and John and Rosie must do more than just run away if they want to survive the night.
“I have been in the Halloween industry for years on the attraction side, and as a result of that, my goal was always to transition into the film arena,” said Jason Egan. “Over the years I have teamed up with Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton to create some truly amazing haunted houses. Working alongside them to produce this film has been a tremendous experience. I hope that this is the first of many more collaborations to come. I look forward to more opportunities to terrify film audiences in the future.”
At the age of 23 Egan single-handedly negotiated a deal with MGM Resorts International to launch his haunted attraction – Fright Dome at Circus Circus inside of the 250,000 square foot Adventuredome indoor theme park. In the time since, he has grown Fright Dome into one of the top-ranked Halloween attractions in the world. In 2014 Egan took his top-ranked haunted attraction to the next level introducing Fright Dome Hong Kong.
Today, Fright Dome is headed into its 14th season providing more than 400 jobs per year in the Southern Nevada community. In addition, Egan has embarked upon another new event for the 2016 season; Ghost Ship Harbor in Boston. Much of Egan’s success over the years has derived from partnerships with the best in whatever industry he was working within. A key ingredient to his success over the years has been identifying those within an industry that shared his aspirations, goals and business morale.
“Everything about working on this project was fantastic,” said Tony Sgro. “I learned from the ground up from some incredibly patient and talented people. I’m honored to have been a part of this awesome experience, and this amazing group of people. I hope they’ll have me back for their next project.”
Sgro, a partner of Patti, Sgro, Lewis & Roger, a Las Vegas-based law firm, began his career practicing primarily in the area of criminal defense. Some years ago, Sgro began expanding his practice to include civil cases, as well as the representation of various athletes, musicians, and celebrities. He has since secured the largest real estate and single person personal injury awards in Nevada history. Today, Sgro continues to expand his practice, and has now included arts and entertainment to his resume, including the representation of MMA fighters, NFL players, and various artists and musicians.
