Suncoast Celebrates Chinese New Year with Lion Dance, Blessing of Peng Zu
Chinese New Year was in full swing at Suncoast Hotel and Casino this week with a festive Lion’s Dance celebration across the casino floor on Wednesday. The dance, which included three lions, one dragon and four musicians, is believed to bring good luck and fortune (Pictured: Suncoast Lion Dance – Photo credit: Flury Photography).
Spectators were given red envelopes with money to feed to the dragon to bring good luck. The dance culminated at Peng Zu, Suncoast’s newest dining experience, for a special blessing of the restaurant with Boyd Gaming senior leadership.
Peng Zu will offer its special Chinese New Year menu through Feb. 25 during regular dinner hours, Sunday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. The menu features barbeque pork buns (3 pieces for $8), seafood with vegetable and bean thread noodle ($19) and drunken noodles ($14).
