Teresa Scanlan of Nebraska Crowned 2011 Miss America at Planet Hollywood
17-yr old Teresa Scanlan of Nebraska was crowned 2011 Miss America tonight at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas (Photo: © Erik Kabik/ RETNA/ www.erikkabik.com).
Scanlan played the piano during the competition selected eating disorders as her platform issue. Her prizes include a $50,000 scholarship. She plans to study American politics at Patrick Henry College in Virginia.

Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady won $25,000 as first runner-up, and Miss Hawaii Jalee Fuselier won $20,000 for third place.
This event was hosted by Chris Harrison, of The Bachelor TV series along with Dancing With the Stars alum Brooke Burke.
Tonights 2011 Miss America show celebrated the 90th anniversary of the Miss America pageant.
