The music is a sweet fusion of Afro Beat meets psychedelic hard rock and big band jazz. It has New York attitude all over it. Their instrumentals soar with infectious beats that build and break and build again reaching higher peaks each time. It’s a unique sound that brings to mind multiple genres of music…imagine New Orleans based band Galactic jamming with Afrobeat Legend Fela Kuti and The Tower of Power horns section and Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler fuzz bass underneath it all. It’s danceable energetic music and they had the room eating out of the palm of their hand right away, cheering them on for more. Body English made for an intimate setting for the show — the sound was clean and bright and as a concert venue Body English truly offers great viewing and listening points for fans from all around the venue. — Erik Kabik

Having scalded listeners’ ears with sonic lava on Budos I and stung them with venomous frequencies on Budos II, The Budos Band delivers on their promise to spread the epidemic of “Budos Fever” far and wide with the release of The Budos Band III. Replete with tight rhythms, blistering breakbeats, blaring horns and perhaps even a tinge of psychedelic doom-rock, Budos III promises to bring some added heat upon its release this summer from Daptone Records. Composed, arranged and honed during weekly, beer-fueled Staten Island writing sessions as well as more than 150 live gigs over the last two years the band’s third full-length studio effort evinces the tight-knit and creative bond The Budos have come to share since the ten-piece ensemble’s inception in 2003. With collective sales of over 30,000 albums and tours that have spanned the US, Canada, and Europe, playing rock clubs and large festival stages, The Budos have developed a rabid fan base that spans genres and ages.

Body English
Reminiscent of an English rock star’s living room, Body English boasts a $250,000 Baccarat chandelier above the massive dance floor, black walls with leather booths and mirrored walls, reflecting the venue’s rock and roll decadence. The 11,000 square feet venue boasts state-of-the-art sound system and makes for the perfect space for live concerts and special events.
