The Chainsmokers Take Over Fremont Street Experience
Last week, The Chainsmokers made a special appearance on the Fremont Street Experience to celebrate the premiere of their Viva Vision light show on the world’s largest TV screen. The buzz surrounding this event was massive- not only are The Chainsmokers Grammy-award winning A-list musicians, but their love and loyalty in Las Vegas holds something extra special (Photo credit: the D Las Vegas).

Thousands of fans who have waited years for “Something Like This” poured onto Fremont Street hours prior to the event in hopes of locking eyes with the wildly popular DJ duo. The 3rd Street Stage, located right in front of the D Las Vegas, was this particular destination.

Right before Alex and Drew took the stage, the duo held a private meet and greet backstage, where they were introduced to the D Las Vegas’ owner, Derek Stevens, and his wife Nicole, who also happen to be big fans.

The clock was ticking, the Viva Vision canopy was warming up, and thousands of fans’ hearts were racing. Then, Patrick Hughes, President/CEO of the Fremont Street Experience, took the stage and welcomed…The Chainsmokers.

The crowd went absolutely insane as their favorite DJs walked out and danced along to the Viva Vision show featuring three of their biggest hits: “Don’t Let Me Down”, “Closer”, and “Something Just Like This”.

Then, Drew grabbed a mic and started singing along with the crowd. In case that wasn’t enough of a thrill already, Alex and Drew then decided to hop off stage and get a little “Closer” to their supporters. Some fans screamed, and other cried, as they got a chance to high-five the superstars.

This has been a great year for Downtown Las Vegas, and things aren’t stopping now. On Thursday, June 13th, DJ/Producer Steve Aoki will take over the Main Street Stage, right outside of the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino for the premiere of his brand new Viva Vision light show. What a summer!
