Fans from all over the country, some of which dressed in theme outfits and even as the characters themselves, gathered inside The Chelsea to hear cast members Eugene Levy (Johnny Rose), Dan Levy (David Rose), Catherine O’Hara (Moira Rose), Annie Murphy (Alexis Rose), Emily Hampshire (Stevie Budd) and Noah Reid (Patrick Brewer) share an intimate and behind-the-scenes look at the beloved show.

Schitt’s Creek creators, Dan and Eugene Levy were greeted with a standing ovation as they took to the stage. The father-son duo, never afraid to tease one another, enthusiastically welcomed the audience with Eugene joking that the sold out crowd gathered just to see him. In a more sentimental moment, Eugene credited his son for the show’s success, stating, “It’s been the most incredible six years for me, as a dad, getting to work with my son Dan and daughter Sarah [Levy] who plays Twyla on the show.”

The pair then introduced the rest of the cast on stage, and in true Vegas fashion, each member was welcomed with a yard-long Fat Tuesday boozy slushy before jumping into the panel-style discussion. Dan, who moderated, said he “wanted to pull the curtain back on the show, share some stories, and have some laughs.” Audience members were able to submit questions, noted by Dan as the best they had seen on the tour.

The actors then reminisced back on their audition process, with Annie Murphy sharing that Dan pulled a prank to make her believe she didn’t land the role because “Punk’d was really big at that time.” Delving into how they found their inspiration for their characters, Catherine O’Hara described how Moira’s hilariously ambiguous accent was a compilation of mementos from every place the worldly character had visited, and Annie Murphy took inspiration from reality TV starlets to create Alexis’ “lazy way of speaking” and signature wrist flip.

The audience was then treated to a comical highlight reel of outtakes and selected fans were brought onstage for a competitive trivia round of “Rose Family Feud” against the cast. They also joked about the show’s unofficial tagline, “Ew, David,” and how it has taken on a life of its own in merchandise, fan art, and even tattoos.

To close of the evening, Noah Reid hopped on his guitar for an acoustic version of Alexis Rose’s “I’m a little bit Alexis,” while Annie Murphy performed an interpretive dance to audience cheers and laughter. Ending with a performance of the show’s most iconic song, what Eugene Levy called the “most emotionally impactful scene” in the series, Noah Reid sang his acoustic version of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best.” The cast received a standing ovation as they thanked the audience for an amazing night, and exited the stage.

Following the show, the cast went out for a late night dinner at STK, a modern steakhouse in The Cosmopolitan, where they enjoyed a curated selection of signature menu items.

Schitt’s Creek: Up Close and Personal is currently touring throughout the United States and Canada. The touring show is based off of Schitt’s Creek, a widely-popular Canadian sitcom that premiered in 2015. The scripted, 30-minute sitcom follows a wealthy family who suddenly find themselves broke and forced to live in Schitt’s Creek, a small town they once bought as a joke. Schitt’s Creek is the first Canadian comedy series to be nominated for a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Series and first to win an MTV Movie and TV Award.
