The Cult to Perform at The Pearl at The Palms Sept. 16

Alternative rock band The Cult makes their way to Las Vegas as a continuation of their Love Live Tour where they will perform with special guests The Black Ryder. The tour will make a stop at The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.

After gaining a dedicated following in their native Britain, The Cult broke onto the American metal scene in the late eighties with top ten hits like “Fire Woman” and “Wild Hearted Son.” Since their formation in 1983, The Cult has released multiple studio albums, two of which have received platinum certification in the U.S., captivating audiences with their fusion of “heavy metal revivalist” and “pseudo mysticism.” They have toured with the likes of Aerosmith and Metallica and played music festivals worldwide including Roskilde and Gathering of the Tribes, the festival that inspired Lollapalooza.

The Cult’s eighth studio album, Born Into This (2007), was their first in six years. Reminiscent of earlier works Love (1985) and Electric (1987), the band returned to their rock roots while embracing modern sonic elements. The Cult created an album that not only speaks to their rabid fans, but seeks to put them squarely back on the map as one of greatest rock bands around. The Cult consists of Ian Astbury (vocals), Billy Duffy (guitar), John Tempesta (drums), Chris Wyse (bass) and Mike Dimkich (rhythm guitar).
