The Legend Lives On at Binion’s with High Player Turnout for First $50,000 Monthly Freeroll Tournament

Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel, world-renowned for its historic stake in the game of poker, held its first $50K Monthly Freeroll tournament  on Monday, December 8 with more than 300 players seated for their share of $50,000.

The winning fifty players split the jackpot in payouts ranging from $100 to $13,000. The first-place finisher was Great Partho with total winnings of $13,000. In second place was Jim Fowler with $10,000 and in third place was Louis Paterno with $4,500.

“It was awesome to welcome our valued players for the first $50,000 freeroll,” said Glenn Casale, director of casino operations for Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel. “The dealers were excited, the players were excited and the casino was filled with that larger- than-life tournament poker atmosphere that only Binion’s can create.”

The $50,000 Monthly Freeroll at Binion’s takes place the second Monday of each month with the next event scheduled for Monday, January 12. Each $50,000 Monthly Freeroll event is a no buy-in with a $10 option. Players are awarded a seat in the freeroll event by accruing 25 hours of live play or winning one daily No Limit Hold’em tournament during the previous month. Hourly accrual begins on the first day of each month to qualify for the freeroll event the following month.

Players who exceed 25 hours of live play during the month preceding the $50,000 Monthly Freeroll event receive an additional 500 chips for every additional 10 hours of play. Live play hours do not roll over to the next month. Players must hold a Club Binion’s membership.
