The Lovin’ Spoonful to Perform at Suncoast Showroom July 30-31

The Lovin’ Spoonful
Noted ‘60s rockers The Lovin’ Spoonful will perform their greatest hits at the Suncoast Showroom, July 30 and 31, each evening at 7:30 p.m.

Formed in 1965, The Lovin’ Spoonful released hits that defined the mid-‘60s—blending folk, rock and roll and a bit of country. In the span of four years, the group produced hit after hit, including “Do You Believe in Magic,” “Daydream,” “You Didn’t Have to be So Nice,” “Nashville Cats” and “Summer in the City.” Additionally, the group wrote and performed songs for the film soundtracks for Woody Allen’s What’s Up, Tiger Lily? and Francis Ford Coppola’s You’re A Big Boy Now.

The Lovin’ Spoonful’s fourth album, perhaps their most ambitious outing, was titled Everything Playing. It was the first attempt for a rock band to record an album on the then-new Ampex 16 track tape recorder. The effort paid off as the album produced the hits “Darlin’ Be Home Soon,” “Six O-Clock” and “She’s Still A Mystery To Me.”

The late ‘60s brought The Lovin’ Spoonful their last major hit, “Never Goin’ Back,” with legendary Nashville session player Red Rhodes on pedal steel guitar. In 2000, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available starting from $15.95, plus tax and convenience fees. Tickets can be purchased at any Coast Casinos Box Office, by calling 702.636.7075 or visiting www.suncoastcasino.com.
