The "Scars and Stripes Festival" Honors the Troops at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center
The Downtown Las Vegas Events Center just held their first Scars And Stripes Festival this past week… and let’s just say, it’ll be hard to top it next year! This day-long event was made to benefit our heroic soldiers, and proceeds went to 3 local organizations (including Pets for Vets). Chart-topping acts 3 Doors Down, Asking Alexandria, HELLYEAH, Pop Evil, and more came to rock and respect! The crowd was insane, as freedom lovers from all across the country came together to spread love at this patriotic concert. DLVEC instantly became a massive sea of red, white, and blue! After all, the true superstars at this show were our troops, and that proved true when they were given the best VIP seats in the house!

The only thing better than music? Music AND sports! NFL quarterback Drew Brees, from the New Orleans Saints, was seen on the side of the stage paying tribute to our armed forces with his wife and friends all night long. He also spent time chatting with the owner of DLVEC, the D Casino Hotel, and multiple other renowned downtown Vegas properties, Derek Stevens.

The night was far from over, though, because Christina Chriss and her band, Kaleido, decided to make a surprise appearance in front of Golden Gate Hotel and Casino for a performance. Seems like no matter where you are downtown, you’ll always get something unexpectedly special!

Christina, 3 Doors Down bassist Justin Biltonen, owner Derek Stevens, and his wife, Nicole, later hung out at the D Casino Hotel’s world famous LONGBAR for some after party excitement.

Though the fest is over, we never stop honoring the brave men and women of this country. The D Casino Hotel definitely puts the “reD” in red, white, and blue.
