The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower Launches The Back Alley Bar

The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower has launched the Back Alley Bar, a new casual party bar that features live music every Thursday through Sunday, daily drinks specials, 12 frosty cold beers on tap, “The Best Street Tacos This Side of Mexico,” and the “Back Alley Babes,” beautiful dancing beverage servers.

“The Back Alley Bar will remind people of that one great bar experience that sticks out in their minds. What made it fun was that it was a bit rowdy with great music, beautiful servers, an ice cold beer in your hand, and amazing bar food that you will always remember,” said Arthur Keith, president and general manager of the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower. “The Back Alley Bar pays homage to that one great bar experience while providing guests with the great value for which the Stratosphere has become known,” Keith added.

The Back Alley Bar features live music Thursday through Sunday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. The live music and the “Back Alley Babes,” the Daisy Duke- clad beverage servers, who dance on the bar, create a lively party atmosphere that goes late into the night.

The Back Alley Bar features specialty cocktails and teas along with beer in the bottle and on draft. Specialty cocktails and teas include Lynchburg Lemonade along with the Texas Tea, a tasty blend of Absolut vodka, Bacardi Superior rum, Beefeater gin, Wild Turkey, and Hiriam Walker triple sec. All specialty cocktails and teas are $9.

There are 12 varieties of domestic and import/microbrew beers in the bottle, and 12 varieties of domestic and import/microbrew beers on draft. Buckets of beer are $18 for domestic and $20 for import/microbrew. Draft beers are available in 24-ounce glasses for $6 for domestic and $7 for import/microbrew, or 48-ounce pitchers for $10 for domestic and $12 for import/microbrew.

The drinking experience at the Back Alley Bar is enhanced through daily drink specials from Thursday through Sunday including $2 well drinks for ladies on Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., $9 pitchers of margaritas on Friday, 2-for-1 specialty cocktails and teas on Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and $6 domestic pitchers on Sunday.

The Back Alley Bar has its version of bottle service with an all day, every day special of a bottle of Jack Daniels and a pitcher of Budweiser for $99. Through May 14, 2009 Las Vegas locals with valid identification will get 2-for-1 cocktails any time at the Back Alley Bar only.

The Back Alley Bar features great food reminiscent of a Mexican street vendor including “The Best Street Tacos This Side of Mexico.” The street tacos are made with fresh white corn tortillas with chili slaw and bar slaw and available with carne asada ($1.75 each), ancho chili chicken ($1.50 each), and garlic rock shrimp ($2 each). In addition to the street tacos, there is a bacon wrapped beef dog with grilled jalapenos and onions for $3.25. Rounding out the menu is seafood ceviche with scallops and rock shrimp tossed in a cilantro citrus dressing with avocado, tomatoes, and cucumber for $4.75.

The look of the Back Alley Bar can be best described as gritty chic with black paint and chrome and metal accents throughout along with welded beer kegs adorning the entrance.

The Back Alley Bar is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. and open 24 hours a day on Friday and Saturday. The Back Alley Bar is located in the north casino area of the Stratosphere.
