Transformation of the resort’s waterfall atrium to commemorate the Year of the Pig began in early January with the installation of a colossal golden pig sculpture. The resort’s floral and horticulture team worked with a team or artisans and consulted a feng shui master to create the installation.

The feature sculpture is a 3,000-pound golden pig that stands 16 feet tall and is surrounded by tangerine trees, chrysanthemums, orchids, succulents and bromeliads. Additionally, nine smaller pigs are placed throughout the waterfall atrium and the resort’s lobbies.

“Chinese New Year is an important holiday for our guests,” said Dana Beatty, executive director of floral at The Venetian Resort. “We aim to create something that is not only memorable, but culturally accurate.”
