The packed club spent the evening celebrating The Weeknd’s birthday and the official release of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” a film he recorded two songs for.

Following an explosive opening set by Las Vegas- and New York City-based turntable master DJ Crooked, The Weeknd took to the newly expanded stage at Drai’s Nightclub at 1:30 a.m. for an hour long concert.

Surrounded by seductive dancers decked out in Fifty Shades of Grey-inspired attire and accessories, The Weeknd commanded the club’s attention as he crooned wearing black jeans, a navy blue detailed jacket and sporting his trademark hairstyle.

The Weeknd performed crowd-pleasing hits including current chart topper and “Fifty Shades of Grey” lead single “Earned It” plus the Ariana Grande assisted “Love Me Harder.”

With a set of primarily original music, The Weeknd let a few surprises out as well including a breathtakingly passionate rendition of “Drunk in Love” by Beyoncé, which he called on the audience to help him sing.

All around him, dancers descended from the ceiling artfully tangled up in webs of rope, providing clubgoers with provocative aerial entertainment to supplement The Weeknd’s already sexy musical stylings.

The Weeknd broke his setlist briefly to express his heartfelt gratitude to the evening’s attendees, humbly thanking the audience for supporting his music and celebrating his birthday with him. After his final song wrapped, he said one more parting message before thanking his band and exiting the stage to a group of friends at a VIP booth next to the turntables. He stuck around for a while taking in the scenic views at the indoor/outdoor rooftop venue before bowing out in the early Saturday morning hours to head back to his suite.
