“Cindy is not just an incredible businesswoman, she’s also extremely generous and caring. She has created an exclusive Artist Series Burger for Umami to help support pediatric cancer research at the University of Wisconsin and American Family Children’s Hospital where her younger brother was once treated for leukemia,” said Sam Nazarian, Founder and CEO of sbe, Umami Burger’s majority shareholder. “We are pleased to collaborate with both Cindy and Rande to amplify the Umami Burger experience for our guests while backing an important cause.”

Bold and spicy, Cindy’s Casa Burger is made with two jalapeño-studded beef patties and topped with crushed avocado, butter lettuce, oven roasted tomato, miso-mustard, caramelized onions, American cheese, house spread, tortilla chips, salsa brava and queso fresco. To complement Cindy’s Casa Burger, Rande Gerber – Crawford’s real-life pairing and Casamigos Tequila founder – has created Rande’s Spicy Margarita, an exclusive Casamigos Tequila cocktail available at Umami Burger.

“Growing up in a small town, I loved classic American comfort food, and nothing is more classic than an American cheeseburger. Rande who owns Casamigos Tequila, also inspired my burger,” said Cindy Crawford. “Cindy’s Casa Burger is slightly spicy, blending together classic Mexican and American flavors with an umami twist. The tortilla chips are tossed in a chilaquiles-style salsa brava and dusted with queso fresco for layers of flavor, and the heat from the jalapeño is balanced by American cheese, avocado spread, tomato and butter lettuce.”

Cindy’s Casa Burger is available for $14 at participating Umami Burger locations nationwide through May 12, 2017. Learn more about Cindy’s Casa Burger in a video filmed by famed photographer Matthew Rolston.

Created exclusively for Umami Burger, and as the perfect pairing to Cindy’s Casa Burger, Rande’s Spicy Margarita is made with Casamigos Blanco, muddled serrano peppers, fresh lime juice, orange juice, house-made simple syrup and a PAMA infusion topped with Xicaru Mezcal, Cointreau foam and thinly sliced serrano pepper. Rande’s Spicy Margarita is available at Umami
Burger at restaurants with a full bar through May 12, 2017 for $11.

“Rande’s Spicy Margarita is refreshing with a kick of heat that’s equally satisfying,” said Rande Gerber. “This cocktail features Casamigos’ ultra-premium tequila and fresh ingredients which packs serious flavor, and gives back to an organization that is near and dear to our hearts.”

In fall 2016, American Family Children’s Hospital and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center joined forces to launch a new childhood cancer fundraising effort at the University of Wisconsin. “Fighting Cancer So Kids Won’t Have To” is a campaign that supports childhood cancer research taking place on campus. The campaign’s vision is not only to save every patient but also to eliminate the risks that come with traditional cancer treatments, aiming to transform cancer from a life-threatening disease into a treatable and manageable one.
