UNLV Rebel Hockey Players Use the D Casino Hotel as a Fun Break from the Ice
The D Casino Hotel is known for its fun atmosphere nestled in the heart of downtown Las Vegas; the type of fun that keeps both tourists, locals and even celebrities coming back for more (Photo credit: the D Casino Hotel).

Their famous LONGBAR is one of downtown’s most popular bars, especially when it comes to sports viewing. Last weekend, the sports viewing was a 4D experience when players from the UNLV hockey team stopped by!

The men were excited for the opportunity to greet the D Casino owner, Derek Stevens, who sponsored the team’s “away” jerseys for regional and national championships. The group chatted about the excitement surrounding the upcoming season and their grueling practice on the ice. Derek’s wife, Nicole, then joined the conversation before the whole group did a “good luck” toast that captured the attention of all the casino guests!

The positive energy didn’t end there; Derek and the men walked outside and caused an awesome scene right in the middle of the Fremont Street Experience. Derek looked sharper than ever in his metallic, “the D” embroidered suit jacket, but he temporarily swapped it out for a jersey and became an honorary UNLV hockey player when it was signed by the players!

Is it more awesome to see the city’s beloved team hanging out at the D or witnessing the well-respected Derek Stevens show his sporty side? It’s tough to decide, so it’s great that both things happened!
