The freaks come out at night, especially during the scariest holiday, Halloween, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 31. Las Vegas gets festive by hosting the most sinful parties and luring in guests with cash and prizes for the best costumes, presenting themed events and featuring celebrity hosts. VEGAS.com experts reveal the top places to mix and mingle amongst the naughtiest, most frightening and moreover the sexiest revelers witnessed this time of year.

Costume Contests

Follow the Yellow Brick Road
Where: Revolution Lounge inside Mirage Hotel and Casino
When: 10 p.m., Friday Oct. 29 – Saturday, Oct. 30
Revolution Lounge hosts a Wizard of Oz theme two nights in a row, encouraging partygoers to dress in their sexiest Oz outfit.

Night of the Killer Costumes

Palms Casino Resort
When: 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30
Rain Nightclub, ghostbar, Moon Nightclub and Playboy Club come together to host the biggest costume contest in Las Vegas. Rain Nightclub will give away almost $47,000 in cash and prizes for the top three funniest, scariest and most shocking costumes. ghostbar has cash and prizes totaling $11,000 for the top three ghostly goblins and ghouls. Moon Nightclub searches for the best Sci-Fi costume with the top three taking home almost $37,000 in cash and prizes and “Jersey Shore” star and DJ Pauly D spins on the turntables. Playboy Club keeps things sexy with a $9,500 sexy costume contest.

A bevy of hosts celebrate Halloween at Tao over the weekend with Ryan Kwanten of HBO’s “True Blood,” kicking off the celebration on Oct. 29. LMFAO makes a performance on Oct. 30 and international superstar DJ Erick Morillo spins on Oct. 31.

Nightmare on 54th Street

The party gets started on Oct. 28 with Throwback Thursday featuring old-school artist, DJ Doug E. Fresh performing his beats. Studio 54 keeps things classic with a performance by Vanilla Ice on Oct. 29. The party gets thrown into gear on Oct. 30 with the Second Annual “Hollyween,” sexy costume party with an appearance by PEEPSHOW headliner Holly Madison. The celebration comes to a close with the 44th Annual Beaux Arts Ball, which benefits Golden Rainbow in an effort to support those with HIV/AIDS.

15th Annual Fetish & Fantasy Halloween Ball

Named one of the Top ten events in the world by Travel Channel, this party is the place to be during Halloween weekend. It features a number of celebrity appearances and some outlandish performances. The event takes place at The Joint concert venue and two adjoining ballrooms, drawing in more than 6,200 people.

McFadden’s Three-Day Celebration

The “Edward-40-Hands” challenge start the action. Participants have 40-ounce beers taped to each hand and the first one to finish will receive a $100 bar tab. On Oct. 30, McFadden’s will host their official Halloween bash, “Boos and Booze.” The best costume will be rewarded with cash and prizes.

Costumed guests attending the show receive a free gift from DISNEY’S The Lion King.  Las Vegas locals may take advantage of the special two-for-one deal for performances on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 31 at 4 and 8 p.m.

Haunted Reef

When: Saturday, Oct. 30
The Shark Reef takes on a Halloween theme with haunting music replacing the usual soothing sounds of the ocean and jungle. The tunnels go dark with ghostly decorations and jack-o-lanterns lining the walls.

El Dia De Los Muertos Celebration
Where: Tacos and Tequila inside Luxor Resort Hotel & Casino
When: 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31
Guests will enjoy the Deadly Mariachi Brunch while boys and girls take part in trick-or-treating, free face painting, airbrush tattoos and the haunted photo booth. Children 12 and under showing off their costumes have a chance to win Halloween prizes.
