On Saturday, July 1st, the VFRCA will host fellow firefighters, neighbors, local celebrities and poker enthusiasts alike at its celebrated annual poker tournament, with proceeds benefitting active and retired fire and rescue personnel. The 2017 VFRCA poker tournament competitors will bet their chips for firefighters and on fun at Planet Hollywood’s exclusive Mezzanine floor. The event starts at 2 p.m. and is open to the public. The $200 buy-in includes the chance to win tiered-cash prizes; the winner of the tournament is guaranteed a $10,000 seat to the World Series of Poker main event.

“The Vegas Fire and Rescue Charitable Association is excited to turn the game of poker into a friendly competition to support the VFRCA’s cause to assist firefighters and their families,” said Luis Fonseca, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Fire Captain and Vice President of VFRCA. “The VFRCA’s board members are thrilled to partner with such a distinguished property like Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and are determined to come together with the community to hit our goal of raising $30,000 total buy-in by registering 150 participants.”
