Video Submissions Now Open for Third Annual Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off Competition
Blue Man Group is holding their third annual Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off competition to find the most creative, innovative and insanely talented drummers in Las Vegas at Downtown Container Park on Saturday, Oct. 6. Video submissions for the Drum-Off are open now through Sept. 23, at 11:59 p.m. and can be submitted at www.blueman.com/vegasdrumoff.
Drummers 13 years of age and older can submit a one to two-minute long video showcasing their creativity, musicality and technical drumming ability. A panel of talented Blue Man Band members will then judge the video submissions and select a group of musicians to play in the semi-final round.
Once selected, the semi-finalists will play in front of a live panel of judges inside the Blue Man Theater at Luxor Hotel and Casino on Sunday, Sept. 30. From there, five finalists will be selected to perform a two-minute session in front of a live crowd at Downtown Container Park on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Ultimately, a panel of judges, comprised of Blue Man Band Members, will choose one drummer to be named the Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off Champion and take home a prize package valued at over $5,000 featuring tickets to Blue Man Group Las Vegas with VIP meet-and-greet and the Behind the Blue experience, a drum kit from DW Drums, a Sabian XSR Rock Performance Set, sticks from Vic Firth and more.
Radio personality, Chet Buchanan of 98.5 KLUC, will serve as the emcee for the final round of competition, which will be free and open to the public for viewing at Downtown Container Park. In addition to cheering on each competitor, attendees will be treated to a performance by a surprise guest during the judge’s deliberation period.
