As part of the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend, this year’s VLV Car Show Saturday April 21st at The Orleans Hotel and Casino, will have performances by Rock n Roll Hall of Famers, “The Killer” Jerry Lee Lewis and Duane Eddy, as well as Iconic ‘80s Rockabilly trio, The Stray Cats, who are gracing the stage together for the first time in America in over a decade (Photo: © Scott Harrison). 

The VLV Car Show showcases 800-1,000 Classic Cars as well as famous cars from the movies, and is all ages and fun for the whole family.

Cassandra Peterson, (aka Elvira, Mistress of the Dark) will be meeting fans and signing autographs at the VLV Car Show on Saturday April 21st. Elvira is one of the most original and outrageous characters in popular culture today. Her career has spanned thirty-five years and you can see her at the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend.

Original Stray Cats Founding members Brian SetzerLee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom have all played Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend with their solo acts in the past, and will grace the stage together again at the Viva Las Vegas Car Show. They sold nearly 10 million albums. Their massive hits and videos include: “Runaway Boys,” “Rock This Town,” “Stray Cat Strut” “(She’s) Sexy + 17,” and “I Won’t Stand in Your Way.”

“The Killer” Jerry Lee Lewis will also perform. His hits “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” and “Great Balls of Fire” shot him to fame worldwide in the 50s. He has been described as “rock & roll’s first great wild man.” Lewis has a dozen gold records in both rock and country. He won several Grammy awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. Lewis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, and his pioneering contribution to the genre has been recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the inaugural class inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.

Duane Eddy had a string of hit records in the late 1950s and early 1960s, which were noted for their characteristically “twangy” sound, including “Rebel Rouser”, “Peter Gunn”, and “Because They’re Young”. He sold over 12 million records and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2008.

Also performing are: Hot Rod LincolnMitch Polzak and Crazy Man CrazyHot Rod Lincoln‘s sound lies in the tradition of ’50s rockabilly and early rock & roll. They won Best Roots/Rockabilly/Swing Band at the 1997 San Diego Music Awards, and have been entertaining audiences since 1993. Mitch Polzak performs Rockabilly from the late 50’s Sun Records era, Guitar instrumentals, as well and Honky Tonk and Truck driving music. He’s been entertaining audiences worldwide since 1999.

The Viva Las Vegas Car Show features 800 –1,000 vintage cars, all pre-1964, as well as the Annual VLV Pin-up Contest. One day tickets are available for this show.
