Lambda Lunch Returns July 8

The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada re-opened its doors to the public as part of the Phase 2 plan for the State of Nevada. Lambda and The Center have had an ongoing dialogue regarding the re-opening of The Center, and Lambda Business Association will be the first event to make use of the event hall with the July luncheon.

The Center has been operating under detailed safety protocols, they are adhering to the following guidelines for the luncheon.

  • Masks must be worn when in the facility.
  • Tables will be configured for proper social distancing
  • Boxed lunches will be served
  • No walk-in service will be permitted. Only online ticketing will be available. No exceptions.
  • Online ticket sales will close when they reach capacity or at 3pm on Tuesday.

Free live streaming of the presentation will be available on the Lambda website and Lambda Facebook. Anyone unable or unwilling to abide by the safety protocols of The Center should consider watching the live stream from home. Anyone with an underlying CDC condition should also consider viewing from home for their own safety and the safety of everyone at The Center.

In an effort to minimize contact, we will not be holding a raffle or distributing Business in a Bag this month.

Guest Speaker
Kathleen M. Magnafici
Supervisory Special Agent
FBI Las Vegas

Ms. Magnafici received a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University in 1986 and a J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1992. Prior to working for the FBI, Ms. Magnafici worked as an attorney in Illinois practicing criminal law, family law and estate planning.

Ms. Magnafici entered on duty as a Special Agent (SA) of the FBI on February 9, 1992 and was assigned to the Las Vegas Division, where she worked organized crime, white collar crime, and public corruption and counterintelligence investigations.

In 2008, SA Magnafici was transferred to the Albuquerque Division, Santa Fe Resident Agency where she worked violent crime, public corruption, and white collar crime matters. In 2012, SA Magnafici received a promotion to FBIHQ as a supervisor in the International Corruption Unit where she served as the FBI representative of a multi-agency task force addressing contract corruption in Afghanistan.

In 2014, SA Magnafici was promoted to Senior Supervisory Resident Agent of the Santa Fe Resident Agency where she supervised a host of violations to include counterintelligence, counterterrorism, violent crime, and public corruption investigations. SA Magnafici also served as the regional art crime team representative during this term.

In November, 2017, SA Magnafici reported to Tel Aviv as the Assistant Legal Attaché assigned to work counterterrorism matters. In 2020, Ms. Magnafici returned to Las Vegas, NV where she is currently the Supervisory Special Agent overseeing a public corruption/civil rights squad.
