Autism Month – Free Special Needs Library & TV Programming from Vegas PBS

Autism Month - Free Special Needs Library & TV Programming from Vegas PBS
April is Autism Month
. The Vegas PBS Special Needs Resource Library provides FREE educational resources for children with special needs and their parents, caregivers, teachers and providers, as well as adults and their families who need adaptive resources to continue to thrive.

April marks Autism Awareness Month, and PBS Kids is doing its part to raise awareness by showing episodes featuring characters on the spectrum. April will include old episodes of “Arthur” on PBS Kids that feature Carl, a character who has Asperger’s syndrome, as well.

This Autism Awareness Month, in addition to TV programs on the topic, we especially want to highlight the books, DVDs and educational resources in our library that address feelings and emotions, language development, listening and social skills. https://www.vegaspbs.org/special-needs/

For 50 years, Vegas PBS has delivered programs to our community. PBS soon observed that many of these materials were being requested by parents and teachers working with children with Down syndrome, certain Autism Spectrum Disorders, and delayed motor or verbal skills.
