Ahoy maties! Enjoy a day of merriment and mayhem as the folks from Pirate Fest roam the Springs Preserve in full costume in honor of the bandits of the high seas. Guests are encouraged to wear their own pirate garb, partake in fun, pirate-inspired arts and crafts, and take photos with their favorite pirate.

Be sure to catch the current traveling exhibit, Odyssey’s SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure to learn all about underwater exploration, sunken treasure and more! Join them on Saturday, January 9, noon – 4 p.m. This special event is free for members or with paid general admission.

Experience the adventurous underwater world of pirates, exploration and treasure in the Odyssey’s SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure exhibit exclusively at the Springs Preserve through Jan. 31, 2016. Visitors engage in hands-on interactive exhibits and computer games, including piloting a virtual submersible over a shipwreck site. Discover more than 500 priceless artifacts recovered from famous shipwrecks including real gold and silver treasure. Find out what it’s like to be a shipwreck explorer, the captain of a sinking ship or a pirate on the run.

WHEN: Pirate Day is January 9, noon – 4 p.m. The Shipwreck! exhibit is on display daily through January 31, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

ADMISSION: The event and exhibit are free for members or with paid general admission.

The Springs Preserve is open daily 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for winter hours. General admission for Nevada residents is $9.95 for adults, $8.95 for students, seniors, teachers and military, $4.95 for children ages five to 17, with kids four and under free. General admission also includes access to the Nevada State Museum, open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission for non-resident adults is $18.95, $17.05 for seniors, students and military, $10.95 for children ages five to 17, with kids four and under free. Plan your visit at springspreserve.org.
