Brooke Burke to Serve as Guest Speaker at Annual Women’s Philanthropy United Luncheon March 24, 2011 at Aria

Women’s Philanthropy returns to center stage with the annual United Luncheon on behalf of the Jewish Federation’s fundraising campaign. The luncheon, fashion show, silent auction and grand raffle will feature TV personality Brooke Burke as the guest speaker. The luncheon will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Aria Resort and Casino and promises to bring the community’s most generous women together for an unforgettable afternoon in support of the Jewish Federation’s philanthropic programs.

“We are very excited that Brooke Burke is our special guest speaker this year,” said Jessica Sporn, Co-Chair of this year’s United Luncheon. “Brooke not only won the “Dancing With The Stars” competition and went on to co-host the television program, she is a successful professional women and mother who has an amazing story to tell.”

Brooke Burke is a TV host, actress, entrepreneur and mother. She can currently be seen co-hosting ABC’s hit competition show, “Dancing With The Stars,” with Tom Bergeron, having earned the coveted mirror ball trophy as season seven’s champion. The mother of four is Co-CEO of the popular website ModernMom.com, President of BabooshBaby.com and author with the publication of her first book, “The Naked Mom,” in February 2011 from Penguin Books. “I hope my book will help women celebrate and embrace their own unique selves, guilt-free,” said Brooke.

The fashion show will be presented by Crystals at CityCenter. Local philanthropists and community leaders will model the designer clothing coordinated by Lacy Schorr, the Fashion Show Chairwoman. Models include: Joseph Adashek, M.D., Andrea Behrens, Erin Bendavid, Elizabeth Blau, Jason Feinberg, Sarah Feldberg, Jeffrey Fine, Liz Goodman, Emily Goodman, Amy Greene, Audra Hendley, Kimberlee Hyp, Susie Lee, Stephanie Loosvelt, Steve Mack, Justin Manacher, Audrey Plotkin, Seth Schorr, Faye Steinberg, Ilana Vann, Cecilia Ventura and Michelle Yerushalmi.

“It’s extraordinary how the Women’s Philanthropy United Luncheon highlights the joy, inspiration and commitment of our community,” noted Karin Sporn, Co-Chair of the 2011 United Luncheon. “More than 350 women attended the event in 2010, bidding on a collection of auction items and donating a total of $60,000 to the Jewish Federation. We plan to surpass that achievement at this year’s luncheon.”

Women’s Philanthropy and the Jewish Federation are pleased to acknowledge the generous support of the following sponsors of the 2011 luncheon: Brenden Theaters, Crystals at CityCenter, Aria Resort and Casino, Destinations by Design, Prosecco Jewelers, Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada, Silver Hooks Accessories and Van Cleef & Arpels (at the Palazzo).

The luncheon couvert is $75 and includes one raffle ticket if received by March 21 and $90 after March 21 and at the door. All guests will have an opportunity to make a minimum gift of $365 to the 2011 Jewish Federation Campaign. Registration for the event is available at www.jewishlasvegas.com or by calling 702-732-0556.

The Jewish Federation, with the generous support of its contributors, is proud to provide vitally important financial resources to beneficiary and collaborative partners who provide programs, humanitarian aid and social services to those in need in the Las Vegas Valley on a nonsectarian basis.
