Meanwhile, Ferraro’s new contemporary décor, featuring clean lines and soft cream walls with dark wood finishes, INSERT s its previous Old-World-inspired scheme that utilized elements such as overstuffed upholstery and heavy draperies in gold, orange and burgundy. Still visible are the ornate, Venetian-style glass chandeliers and lighting fixtures, which now appear more noticeable and striking among the simplified surroundings.  Owners Gino and Rosalba Ferraro’s daughter, Designer Teresa Ferraro Marretti, consulted on the new design program for the restaurant.

“It was time to refresh the restaurant, so we sought inspiration in Italy’s well-established modern design traditions,” explains Gino Ferraro. “I think the lighter and sleeker atmosphere complements our fine-dining experience without competing with it.”
