Callville Bay Marina Recognized by U.S. Veterans Initiative for Hiring Unemployed Veterans
In recognition for its efforts and dedication in serving those who served, Callville Bay Resort & Marina, located in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and managed by Forever Resorts, has been named Partner of the Year for 2016 by the U.S. Veterans Initiative Workforce Department

The award was conferred during a ceremony at Texas Station.

Callville Bay worked directly with U.S. Veterans Initiative to hire seven employees in the spring of 2016 for the summer season. The employees were given a variety of jobs, including land shuttle, porter/dockhand, cook, land maintenance crew, mechanic and houseboat maintenance crew. Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina on Lake Mohave, also part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, hired two employees through the program. Both Callville Bay and Cottonwood Cove are operated and managed by National Park Service concessioner Forever Resorts.

“When we found out about this program, we immediately knew we had jobs that could be filled by these honorable citizens,” explained Rod Taylor, regional vice president, Forever Resorts. “We couldn’t sign up fast enough. Right now, we’re already planning on expanding the program, creating training programs to meet the needs of veterans in need of work and hiring more!”

Homeless veterans seeking employment through the U.S. Veterans Initiative Workforce Department can call the Las Vegas office at (702) 366-0456 or go to usvetsinc.org.
