More than 600 guests attended and $111,750 was raised at this year’s event, held for Candlelighters families whose diagnosed child is aged 12 and under, providing an opportunity to enjoy a fall festival with carnival games, bounce houses, a petting zoo, prizes, dinner and trick-or-treating in a safe, fun environment.

Ellis Island Hotel has hosted the event since its inception two decades ago, providing rooms, event space, tents and food and beverage. In addition to serving as a quality of life event for Candlelighters families, the Halloween Bash serves as a fundraiser for the foundation. Local companies, individuals and organizations sponsor nearly 100 different rooms at Ellis Island Hotel, which they decorate and hand out candy to Candlelighters’ children.

Commemorating 40 years of service to the community in 2018, Candlelighters is southern Nevada’s first and oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local pediatric cancer patients. For additional information, call 702.737.1919, visit candlelightersnv.org or e-mail info@candlelightersnv.org.
