Capital One Day at New Goodwill Rainbow Store in Las Vegas Oct. 25

Goodwill of Southern Nevada will celebrate “Capital One Day” on Friday, October 25, 2013 at its newest and largest retail store, located at 741 S. Rainbow Blvd. (at Alta), to recognize the significant impact Capital One’s $50,000 grant played in opening the new location.

More than two-dozen Capital One employees will volunteer at the new store from 10am to 5pm, helping sort donations, stock shelves and assist with other duties. Goodwill customers who use a Capital One credit card at the Rainbow Store ONLY will receive 25% off the cost of their entire purchase.

Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s new Rainbow Store, Drive-Up Donation Center and Career Connections Training Center officially opened to eager shoppers and job seekers on Friday, October 11. The new 24,000 square-foot facility is six times the size of the original Rainbow store which was located at 3011 N. Rainbow Blvd. (at Cheyenne).

By relocating the Rainbow store to a larger location and expanding operations, Goodwill of Southern Nevada created thirty new jobs. Like all Goodwill stores, the sale of merchandise helps fund Goodwill’s mission of helping people in our community find work no matter circumstance or disability.

The new Rainbow store is the third Goodwill Store to offer a Career Connections component. The new Career Connections Training Center offers free workshops, training and education to jobseekers.

Since January 1, 2013, Goodwill of Southern Nevada has helped more than 1,600 people find employment at a variety of businesses.
