Celebrate the contributions of African Americans to Southern Nevada’s history and culture at the Springs Preserve’s 10th annual Black History Month Festival, Saturday, February 16, from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

The family-friendly festival features activities for all ages including:

  • Live bands, spoken word and hip-hop performers, and music by DJ So Hype
  • Presentation honoring late civil rights champion Dr. James McMillan
  • Historic Black Las Vegas photo exhibit and Civil Rights-era photography
  • Appearances by Kiara Musik, Jess Flo, Native Son Spelling Bee finalists and more
  • Story Time with children’s author Brittany Brady
  • Soul food from local restaurants, cultural art and gift items
  • Activities for the kids include arts and crafts, carnival games and face-painting, and more

WHERE: Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., (Meadows Ln. Between Alta Dr. and U.S. 95)

WHEN:  February 16, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

COST: Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 3-17, and free for children under 2. Bronze members and above receive free tickets. Go to springspreserve.org.
